Well, as some of you may know, we are pregnant again. Well I'm not but my wife is. Today we had the first doctor's appointment. After the weigh in, the lame chit-chat, the quirky questions, we got to hear the heartbeat! Woohoo. Now the nurse had asked us what Griff's first heart rate was and we said it was about the mid 140's. She said that Griff's was consistent with belief that boys are usually under 160 and girls are above 160. The nurse then lubed up that weird microphone and slapped it on Kate's belly. Fished around a while and said, "There. That is your heart beat. Let's see, some times the baby hides a li... Wait there is is!" I started to well up at this point. The sound of that little being in there. Wow! It's little heart just racing. Then she said, "Do you want to know what the average heart rate is? It's 172!" The tears broke and fell down my face. Wow, chances are good that this little baby is a girl! We are so excited. I know that we will love the baby no matter what the sex but we are hoping for a girl. I guess we will have to see!

There's something really special about a daughter.
With a daughter, you will have what people used to call a "million dollar family"!
A little girl would be just delicious!!! We adore little boys, but little girls are so.......different :-)
