When you think of Hell, is it filled with flames at the center of the earth, or the little horned men running around and poking you with their spears, or like the ancient used to think that the sea was the entrance to Hell (Sheol). Well this morning was the frozen Hell to me. I always joke around about Michigan being the frozen Hell and this morning the weather took offense!
I got ready this morning as usual. Same old shower, Bagel, sloppy kiss from Griff and peck on the cheek from K8. But as soon as I got out the door to go fire up the car I knew something was wrong. It had been warming up the past couple of days. Most of the snow had melted, the salt had all been washed away by the rain and so on and so forth. I lift open the garage door, walk over to my drivers side door of my car, lift up on the door handle and to my surprise it would not budge. Maybe it's locked even though I don't lock my door in my own garage! Got out the keys, tried to put the key in the lock but it was like there was not even a hole to put the key into. What the heck! My door was frozen shut!!!!
This had never happened before to me so I was a little confused on what to do. I opened the back hatch (the passenger door was not available as I have a small 2 car garage) and crawled in. Most of you know that I have a metro and is not very big. Kind of hard to start the dumb thing from the back seat. So I fired it up and went in the house thinking the heater will warm it up and all will be good. Yeah right! I come back out to find that it is still frozen and the lock will still not work. So I climb back through the hatch and into the front seat getting snow all over from my shoes. Back the dumb thing out into the driveway and try to budge my door from the inside. No luck. so I crawl out the passenger door and go inside again. Pick up my bagel and kiss the wife again and hope into my car from the passenger side.
What a mess! Even after driving to work the lock on my door is still frozen shut!
Living in the frozen hell,
