    Old Crap

Do you ever take a step back and look at anything from a different perspective? If not, you need to. Sometimes we get so close to the forest that we can't see the trees.

I feel as though our church might be there. I see things happen in our church which make me wonder, "What the heck were they thinking?" We need to be open to having someone else point out our old crap. The old ways of doing something. There are bound to be new and more efficient ways of doing stuff.

This is not to say throw out everything old! Then we would not have any wise people around. I think that sometimes people get into a rut and then the rut becomes the right way to do things. Pride takes over and they don’t want to admit that they screwed up.

I think if a lot more of us realized that we have failed and sucked it up we would be a lot more in tune with what God is trying to tell us.

    Realizing failure,
    ~Hosh~

I'm glad you're not in favor of throwing out everything "old"...
I also believe that it's important to constantly evaluate our effectiveness as kingdom builders - individually and corporately. Sometimes it's easier for me throw up my hands in frustration and disgust, and lose sight of the possibility that I may very well be part of the problem. What? Not me! In reality, any change I desire has to begin within me.
