Joel and I figure it out

If you live in the greater Holland area you know that most of the time our weather sucks. There is one time that without fail the weather clears up and is gorgeous–Tulip Time. After extensive research my scientific research partner Joel and I have figured out why every year, around Tulip Time, Holland has perfect weather.

If you look at the differences between Tulip Time and the rest of the year closely you will see 2 really big things that differ. The first is that during Tulip Time there are hundreds of thousands of tulips. One might think that the Tulips have nothing to do with the weather. That is where you are wrong. Based on our research, the fragrance that the Tulips release during their lifespan enter the atmosphere and helps create an updraft that in turn almost makes a force field around Holland.

The second factor is the tourists. Now, not all the tourists are a factor. We have found that particularly the older women are the biggest factor. The concentration of the perfume worn by the older ladies also creates an updraft into the atmosphere above Holland.

The combination of the fragrance of the hundreds of thousands of tulips and the perfume of hundreds of older ladies create a very large thermal updraft that, in turn creates a bubble around Holland, therefore creating great weather for Tulip Time.

Think about the implications of this. Maybe it is not the weather that drives older folks to Florida, California and Arizona but the older folks drive the weather to those places!

Ok, so we were a little wrong. I think the population of older ladies was down this year!

For the last number of years, it's been my experience that the Tulip Time weather is sub-par. Quite a bit of rain.

Nice attempt at a theory though. :)
