    Pain

You know how you hear about these people with a high tolerance to pain? Well, I do not consider myself to be one of those people. My wife is one of those people. Some of you might remember when she sliced into her finger cutting up some melon. Yeah she hardly even yelped. All of this leads me to my latest experience of pain.

So yesterday night I decided to spray around our house for ants. I got out the equipment, mixed up some kill-em solution and sprayed the area around my house without incident. After I was through I put everything away in the garage where it need to go. I cleaned a couple thing up in the garage and was on my way out of the garage when I shut the garage door and my finger got stuck in-between two of the panels in the door. The first thing that I noticed was that I was being held back by something as I was trying to walk forward. The pain didn't hit till a moment or two later. I tried to pull my finger free and it would not come free. By now the pain is excruciating. I finally threw my body backwards to yank my finger out. I held my tongue till I got in the house. As I came in I called to Kate and she thought I broke it but I could still move it. I had that finger in ice water for about two hours. I needed to go to bed and I knew I couldn't leave it in ice water for ever. I am not sure which the pain was coming from; the cold wearing off or the nerves sending pain signals to my brain. Whichever it was it hurt like H E double hockey sticks. I started to keep my hand above my head so that the blood would not rush to it. I got in bed and it felt as though someone was sticking needles under my nail trying to pry it off. All I could think of were those little monsters in that anti-fungle cream ad on TV!I am not really sure how I got to sleep except the drugs.

Today it is better but still sore. I am almost positive I bruised the bone. I was telling Kate that it was a good thing that the garage doors are not sharp because that would of cut the end of my finger right off.

Here is a picture of my nail.

And here is a picture of the dent my finger left in my garage door!

    Painfully yours,
    ~Hosh~
